In North America, it's mandatory that all cars come equipped with front and rear light reflectors, back lit by some sort of bulb or LED. In most cases, this is done by using a regular clear glass bulb that lights up dingy yellowish color, illuminating the Amber (front) or Red (rear) reflector housing. While it is true that changing the glass bulb to LED can give brighter glow to the factory reflector housing, its also true that many cars have a Clear version of that reflector, often called the "JDM" version, "Euro" version, etc. For these clear units, the new high power LED bulbs make a massive change in the look and glow of the reflector.
